| Southern Australia has much to offer the adventurous traveler, with sophisticated cities, the rugged untamed outback, the mountains of the Flinders Ranges, and the island of Tasmania. Begin in Sydney, where you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the city's most interesting cultural highlights, a lunch cruise on Sydney Harbour, and a day tour to the majestic Blue Mountains. From there, fly to Tasmania, where you will pick up the rental car that has been arranged and make your way to past Cataract Gorge and several small villages en route to Cradle Mountain. Spend two nights at Cradle Mountain before continuing on to explore beautiful Freycinet for two nights. Drive to Tasmania’s capital of Hobart for your final night on the island before flying to Flinders Ranges, where you will stay for two nights while learning about this spectacular mountain region. Next, fly to Kangaroo Island, where sea lions bask playfully on the shore and koalas quietly watch from their treetop perches. After a night at a historic homestead, return to Adelaide for a two-night stay and a day of private touring through the numerous wineries and vineyards in the Barossa Valley. | |||
