| This ultra-deluxe introduction to Egypt features the Oberoi Zahra, a new luxury cruising vessel that allows a full seven nights to sail down the Nile in style – meaning guests can truly relax and enjoy the sights at their leisure. This journey begins with three nights in Cairo, where private touring with an Egyptologist includes the pyramids of Giza as well as Cairo’s important landmarks like the museum, citadel, and major mosques. After exploring Cairo, board the Oberoi Zahra and set sail for a weeklong journey down the mighty Nile River. During your time onboard, you will explore Aswan, Edfu, Luxor, Quina, and Dendara; an expert Egyptologist leads the small group touring of the sites and gourmet meals and informative lectures await in the evenings on the boat. When the boat arrives in Luxor, you will be met and transferred to the airport for the flight back to Cairo, where you will be met and driven to Alexandria. Spend two days exploring Alexandria, the lovely Mediterranean seaport city named for Alexander the Great. See the national museum, Pompey’s Pillar, the Roman Amphitheater, and the Alexandria Library before heading back to Cairo for your final night – with a stop to see the Coptic monasteries at Wadi Natrun along the way. | |||
