Spend ten days exploring the highlights of Kenya on this comprehensive introductory tour. The trip begins with one night in Nairobi at the Karen Blixen Cottages; in the morning, visit the Giraffe Center and the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, both of which aid endangered species. In the afternoon, head to the Kigio Wildlife Conservancy for three nights at the Malewa Wildlife Lodge. During one of your days at Malewa, you will visit the Born Free Centre and take a boat ride on Lake Navaisha. From there, head to Sabuk Lodge for three nights in the Laikipia Plateau. The lodge specializes in guided camel treks led by Maasai, a memorable opportunity to meet with the knowledgeable residents of this area. The Laikipia Plateau has one of the largest elephant populations in East Africa and still has a good population of black rhino, so gameviewing is generally excellent. Conclude the journey with three nights in the Masai Mara at Olonana Camp, a superb base for exploring one of Africa’s greatest wildlife enclaves. Lion prides, cheetah, leopards and rhino all inhabit this peaceful and seemingly endless expanse of land; spend two full days with expert guides who will do their best to introduce you to the wide variety of the wildlife that live in the Masai Mara. |
