This trip offers a truly rare opportunity to spend time with the Antandroy tribe, considered the fiercest and most traditional tribe in the country, while also being introduced to Madagascar’s more well-known highlights. From Antananarivo (known commonly as Tana), fly south to Ifotaka to join the mobile tented safari; spend three nights here with the Antandroy, learning about their traditions, history, and ways of life in this fascinating cultural exchange. Fly back to Tana and visit the “must-see” Baobab Alley and Kirindy Forest before heading to Diego Suarez to explore the De Fontenay Reserve and the beautiful sandstone formations of Red Tsingy. The next day, head to Amber Mountain, the volcanic massif that supports a vast range of plant and animal life -– including Madagascar’s famous lemurs! From there, fly to Nosy Be and connect to Anjajavy, a new resort on the western coast of Madagascar. Spend five glorious days luxuriating in the splendid isolation, white-sand beaches, and turquoise waters of Anjajavy -- some well-deserved rest and relaxation after the active adventuring of this once-in-a-lifetime journey! |
