| This program is a perfect introduction to Uzbekistan. Begin with a visit to Samarkand, known as the “Rome of the East”, where you will visit the world famous Registan Square and many other architectural marvels and sites. From Samarkand, travel to Bukhara, one of the best places in Central Asia to learn about pre-Russian Turkestan. Drive through the Kyzylkum Desert to the majestic town of Khiva and spend a full day in Tashkent, the Uzbek capital and one of the largest industrial and cultural centers in Central Asia. Fly to Ferghana and enjoy an excursion to Margilan and Andijan, where you will see beautiful handmade ornaments and embroideries. Pass through the dramatic Kamchik Pass on the road to Tashkent and visit Kokand en route. Conclude the trip with an overnight in Tashkent. | |||
