South America is an ideal destination for families because of the relatively short plane flight and the minimal time difference – in fact, a trip to South America can usually be fit into school vacation time! Start this journey in Buenos Aires, where the whole family will tour the city, take a cruise on the delta, and venture in to neighboring Uruguay to visit the charming town of Colonia del Sacramento. From Buenos Aires, fly to Iguassu Falls -– a series of thundering falls that are easily the equal of North America’s Niagara Falls. Stroll the comfortable walking circuit on the Argentine side that provides an excellent overview of the watery wonder and, the next morning, cross into Brazil to get even closer to the action! Fly next to Bariloche, the Argentine lake district, and take a catamaran to Victoria Island, the largest in Nahuel Huapi Lake. Spend another full day enjoying Bariloche and taking advantage of the many recreational activities available, including horseback riding, mountain biking, and rafting. The final day, fly back to Buenos Aires to catch your international departure flight.
