| Begin in Bangkok, where you will travel by private longtail boat along the Chao Phraya River and its residential canals and visit the Temple of Dawn, the Grand Palace, and Wat Phra Kaew. One highlight is an early morning visit to the Marble Temple, where you will observe monks practicing their morning chants. Permission will also be arranged for you to visit the Prasart Museum, a private art collection housed in an exclusive private Bangkok estate. Next fly to Chiang Rai, home to numerous tribal groups who once migrated from southern China; touring in Chiang Rai includes the Mae Fah Luang Art & Cultural Park, the ancient ruins at Chiang Saen, a boat ride on the Mae Kok River, and an elephant ride through rice paddies. Continue by road to Chiang Mai, where you'll visit the sacred temple atop Doi Suthep and the handicraft workshops for which Chiang Mai is best known. Next, fly to Vietnam and the cosmopolitan city of Hanoi, where you will enjoy extensive private touring and a visit to magnificent Halong Bay, where thousands of limestone rock sculptures jut dramatically from the sea. Fly from Hanoi to Danang, located on Vietnam's central coast, where you will visit the Cham Museum and the Marble Mountains, and spend three nights enjoying the beach and exploring the charming town of Hoi An. Fly next to Saigon, where you will tour the city and enjoy a day excursion to the Mekong Delta. Hop over to Cambodia to see the magnificent Angkor Wat and then relax on the white sand beaches of Ko Samui. | |||
